Black River Mayor condemns vandalism

2012-07-09 18:40:00 | (0 Comments)

Mayor of Black River Everton Fisher is condemning the defacing of Jamaica 50 decorations in Black River.

The parish council says vandals used scissors to cut sections of the black, green and gold fabric decorations which were placed across the parish by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission.

Fisher says he is disappointed by the actions of the vandals at a time when citizens are celebrating Jamaica’s accomplishments as a nation.

He says he is disturbed that individuals would use their time to destroy the decorations bearing the colours of the national flag at a time of national unity.

Fisher says a report will be made to the police.
