Gov’t admits to ticket amnesty bungling

2012-07-10 16:53:47 | (0 Comments)

The Ministry of National Security has issued a release acknowledging that there may be errors on its website identifying traffic ticket delinquents.

“There is a chance that some tickets which were paid, or otherwise settled through the courts are still reflected on the database of unpaid tickets,” said a ministry spokesperson.

The ministry says the mix up may be due to the challenges of reconciling a manual system at the courts with the electronic system at the Ministry.

The ministry is promising that appropriate reconciliation will be promptly performed once the matter is reported.

At the same time, it is encouraging motorists to continue to check if they have outstanding traffic tickets.
