Linstead man arrested for ganja

The Linstead police in St Catherine have taken a 40-year-old labourer into custody after he was caught with more than a pound of ganja.

Courtney Demitrius of Charlemont, St Catherine has been charged with possession of and dealing in ganja. It is reported that about 1:30 yesterday afternoon the Linstead police were on patrol when they saw Demitrius with a backpack.

He was accosted and searched and the ganja was allegedly found. Further search of the bag revealed 126 small parcels and $6,930 in cash.

He is booked to appear in the Linstead Resident Magistrate's Court on July 25.
