Student summer camp to focus on holistic development

2012-07-15 12:09:14 | (0 Comments)

Dozens of students from Duhaney Park and surrounding communities in St Andrew are to benefit from a summer camp, starting tomorrow, targeted at their holistic development.

The camp is being organised by clinical psychologist Coretta Brown- Johnson.
Brown-Johnson, who currently heads the Saints Peter and Paul Guidance Department, says the camp has been oversubscribed.

She adds that several corporate entities have also come on board to sponsor the two-week summer initiative. The camp will focus on development through the performing arts, sports, and other programmes to address the issues impacting growth.

She says students will be assessed at the end of the programme. Last year 30 youths and 11 adults with challenges benefited from the programme.
