Jamaica adds one medal on final day to end with five

Jamaica's 4x400m team: Sandrae Farquharson; Olivia James; Janieve Russell and Shericka Jackson in a season best clocking of 3 minutes, 32.97 seconds.
Jamaica topped off today’s final day of the 14th IAAF World Junior Championships held in Barcelona, Spain with a silver medal in the women’s 4x400 metres final to bring the team’s tally to five over six days of competition.
This represented the country’s eighth best ever showing at the championships, as they finished seventh in the medal standings and ninth on the points table with 59.
The silver medal in the women’s 4x400m was won by the team of Sandrae Farquharson; Olivia James; Shericka Jackson; Janieve Russell in a season best clocking of 3 minutes, 32.97 seconds.
Jamaica’s other medals at the championships are:
Russell- 400m hurdles gold in 56.62 seconds (world leading and personal best)
Fedrick Dacres- Discus gold with throw of 62.80 metres (season best)
Odean Skeen- men’s 100m bronze in 10.28 seconds (personal best)
Men’s 4x100m- (Skeen, Tyquendo Tracey, Jevaughn Minzie and Jazeel Murphy) in a time of 38.97 seconds (national junior record)
