Blake: Friendship with Bolt will survive after London 2012

2012-07-17 16:07:58 | (0 Comments)

Yohan Blake says his friendship with fellow Jamaican, training partner and sprint rival Usain Bolt will survive whatever happens at London 2012.

Blake fired a warning to Bolt, the reigning Olympic champion by winning both the 100 and 200 metres at the Jamaican trials.

However, Blake said win, lose or draw we are friends.

Blake is the reigning 100-metre world champion after world record-holder Bolt was disqualified for a false start in the final at Daegu in 2011.

Six days later Bolt stormed to victory in the 200 metres to underline his status as favourite for both sprint titles in London.

Blake believes that his decision to leave his school coach in October 2008 and join Bolt under coach Glen Mills at the Racers Track Club in Kingston has helped him.

The men’s 100-metre finals will take place on August 5, while the 200-metre final is set for August 9.
