Prisoner with Tuberculosis recaptured

Prisoner with Tuberculosis recaptured Christopher Bowen, the prisoner who escaped from the National Chest Hospital, while being treated for Tuberculosis last week is back in police custody.

Head of the Department of Corrections, Colonel Sean Prendergast, said Bowen was recaptured yesterday near Harbour View in St. Andrew.

He said the prisoner was then taken back to the hospital, under guard, to continue his treatment.

Bowen is on charges of illegal possession of a firearm and robbery with aggravation.

Colonel Prendergast said his department is grateful to members of the public who assisted in getting Bowen back into custody.
