NewsChicken price to go up2012-07-26 13:00:49

Jamaica Broilers says the price of chicken meat could be increased by between 7 and 12 per cent in coming weeks.
The pending price increase is as a result of the rising cost of grain in the United States. Conley Salmon, Vice President Marketing Feed and Agricultural Supplies, said the price of meat could go up by as much as 25 per cent in some places. However, he said Jamaica Broilers is seeking to minimise the impact of the increase on its customers. He said the company will also be initiating several projects to cut operational costs. editorial@gleanerjm.com Listen to Audio clip
