LONDON, England:
Jamaican swimmer Alia Atkinson will face a swim-off at 9:25pm (3:25pm Jamaica time) with Canadian Tera Van Beilen, after both swimmers were clocked at 1:07.48, tied for fourth place in semi-final one of the 100m breaststroke here at the Olympic Games in London.

The pair are also tied for the eighth and final spot for tomorrow’s final, which means that a tie-breaker is needed to determine who advances to the final.

Jamaica's swimming team manager Marin Lyn confirmed the swim-off after FINA officials in the Mixed Zone of the Aquatics Centre, pointed out that it was the usual decider taken at these championships.

The swim-off, according to FINA officials inside the Mixed Zone at the Aquatics Centre, would take place within 30 minutes after the final event on the schedule, which is the Men’ 4x100m freestyle relay, which runs off at 9:25pm local time.
