JPS working to restore power

2012-08-05 15:00:09 | (0 Comments)

The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) says restoration teams are working to ensure that power is restored to persons affected by outages.

The light and power says two motor vehicle accidents - in Bull Bay and Golden Spring - were responsible for outages in St Thomas and St Andrew, while adverse weather conditions associated with a lightning storm early this morning caused
outages in St Catherine.

In a statement issued a short while ago, the JPS says service has been restored to the majority of affected customers, and that "teams continue to make every effort to return supply to the remaining areas in the shortest possible time".

In the meantime, power provider assured that "emergency teams across the island are on standby to respond quickly in the event of any further service interruptions".
