Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller says she has been speaking to her South African counterpart about the reform of international lending institutions and their relationship with highly-indebted countries.
South Africa’s president, Jacob Zuma was on the island yesterday for a state visit as part of Jamaica’s independence celebrations. Mrs. Simpson Miller says they discussed a number of issues including how countries like Jamaica are dealt with by international lending partners. Meanwhile, President Zuma says a number of other draft agreements and memoranda of understanding are being negotiated in the areas of sports, defence and security, public works, education and social development. radio@gleanerjm.com Listen to Audio clip
