LONDON, England:
World 100m hurdles champion Brigitte Foster-Hylton has declared that she will be retiring from athletics this year.

This means that she will not be competing in the 2013 World Championships in Moscow.

However, Foster-Hylton says she will continue this season with a few races on the European circuit.

Yesterday, the Jamaican crashed out of the 100 metre hurdles in the Olympics after she hit hurdle five.

This morning, she told reporters she was still deeply disappointed by the incident.

However, Foster-Hylton says she is truly grateful to Jamaicans for their outpouring of support.
