Twenty-six-year-old Shane Miller, a businessman of Morningside Drive in Havendale, Kingston 8, has been charged with manslaughter following yesterday’s road traffic crash in which an executive member of the Jamaica Teachers' Association was killed.
Novia Reid, 43, died after the car she was driving was hit by Miller's Toyota Altezza along the Melrose Bypass in Manchester. Miller is to appear in the Mandeville Resident Magistrate’s Court. It is reported that about 5:30 p.m. yesterday, Miller was driving his Toyota Altezza along the Melrose Bypass in Manchester when he collided with Reid’s Toyota Corolla. Reid, a teacher of the Hatfield All Age School, later succumbed to her injuries at hospital.
