Canadian employers in Jamaica for recruitment

2012-08-09 12:36:01 | (0 Comments)

A group of Canadian employers is expected in the island this afternoon to interview and select candidates for vacancies in their country.

Labour Minister Derrick Kellier says the employers will also be conducting orientation sessions.

He says the 10-day visit is a follow-up to discussions he had with Canadian government officials and private sector employers three weeks ago to explore employment opportunities.

The Labour Ministry says the employers will be seeking workers to fill vacancies in areas such automotive, hospitality, healthcare and the agriculture/processing industry.

The group is also scheduled to have discussions with Kellier on the Canadian work programme.
