NewsOpposition asks OCG to probe book-marker fiasco2012-08-10 11:01:23 | (0 Comments)
The opposition spokesperson on education, Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert is calling for the contractor general to probe the education ministry’s expenditure on bookmarkers to commemorate Jamaica 50.
Dalrymple-Philibert says she has no problem with the ministry issuing the souvenirs to students. But she notes that with several millions of dollars spent on bookmarkers which erroneously bore the image of the education minister, there could also have been breaches of procurement guidelines. She also says she is also deeply concerned about the refusal of the Ministry to name the printer. Dalrymple-Philibert says she wants the contractor general to immediately commence a probe into the matter. radio@glenaerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
