Thunderstorm, showers to affect Jamaica today

The Meteorological Service is forecasting showers and thunderstorms for Jamaica today because of a strong Tropical Wave which is currently moving across the island.

The Met Service says the system will affect eastern parishes first, then central and western parishes sometime this afternoon into tonight.

It also says the showers, which may be heavy at times, are likely to be accompanied by strong, gusty winds.

Fishers and other marine interests, including those on the cays and banks, should exercise caution.
