NewsEight held in lottery scam raid in MoBay2012-08-17 08:14:08 | (0 Comments)
Members of the Lottery Scam Task Force yesterday detained eight people in Montego Bay, St. James in relation to the lottery scam.
The police also reportedly seized more than US$13,000, J$250,000, three motor vehicles, two high-powered motorcycles and more than 2 thousand un-customed cigars. It’s further understood that several cellular phones and computers were also seized. The items were seized in pre-dawn operations conducted simultaneously in Lilliput, Red Ground and Bogue Village. Over the past four months, the Lottery Scam Task Force has been tracking a number of suspects implicated in the scamming of scores of persons in the United States. Just over a week ago, Western Union International was forced to order the closure of 14 locations in St James. Three were reopened on Wednesday but customers in St James have been restricted to sending or receiving a maximum of US$400. radio@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
