Quick action by divers at the Bog Walk Gorge in St. Catherine this afternoon led to the rescue of a female driver whose car had plunged into the Rio Cobre.

It is reported that the woman was driving along the roadway when a boulder rolled off the hillside and hit her car.

It’s further reported that a tyre on the car blew out causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

David Morris, who is one of the divers who assisted the woman, told our news centre that he and other men witnessed the car going into the river.

Morris said they immediately jumped into the river to save the woman.

The woman was not hurt but was visibly shaken up.
