Tensions are mounting in the community of Central Village, in St Catherine, after gunmen staged a brazen attack there last night killing three men and leaving two others hospitalised.

Those killed have been identified as 28-year-old Craig Cayman, his brother, 23 year-old Shane Cayman and a man known only as Daniel, all from Big Lane, in Central Village.

The Constabulary Communications Network has confirmed the incident, but says it has no details.

It is reported that around midnight the men were at their home with other family members when a group of heavily-armed gunmen showed up and started spraying the house with bullets.

Councillor for the area Donovan Guy says the area has been tense for some time and fears that the shooting will escalate tensions in the community.
