The Opposition Jamaica Labour Party, the JLP, says it is shocked and saddened to learn that Dr Dixon had fallen victim to murderous criminals in his home town.

The party’s spokesman on health, Dr Kenneth Baugh says the remorseless killing of Jamaicans, including professionals, sends a bad signal to the world that could have serious consequences.

In a statement this afternoon, Dr Baugh said the medical profession and the health services in western Jamaica had suffered an irreplaceable loss.

He says it is hard to believe that anyone could carry out such an egregious act against such a long-standing, dedicated and selfless servant of the people.
