Opposition Spokesman for National Security, Delroy Chuck is expressing concern about the increased number of murders in recent days.

Chuck noted that the latest statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary Force show an uptick in the number of murders to date this year, compared to the corresponding period last year.

Chuck is calling for Minister of National Security Peter Bunting to quickly update the nation on any strategy being looked at to stem the increase before it spirals out of control.

According to Chuck many Jamaicans are becoming increasingly worried about what he says is a creeping breakdown in law and order in many areas, especially in rural Jamaica.

Chuck is also urging Jamaicans to do their part in bringing to the attention of the Police and trusted authorities any criminality around them.
