No gas station shutdown

2012-09-04 16:54:16 | with audio | (0 Comments)

The Gasolene Retailers Association (JGRA), is seeking to assure that there is no threat of a shutdown of gas stations.

President of the JGRA, Trevor Heaven, said while a shutdown is not ruled out for the future, the association is happy with the outcome of talks with the Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell.

The group met yesterday with the Minister and the National Workers Union in an effort to find a solution to some of problems plaguing the petroleum sector.

Heaven said he is hopeful that some of the decisions taken at yesterday’s meeting will bear fruit.

Last week, the JGRA announced several cost-cutting measures following a meeting with its members.

Among those measures is greater use of self-service in gas stations and an end to credit card payments for fuel.
