Livern Barrett, Senior Gleaner Writer
Resident Magistrate Georgina Fraser has temporarily lifted the stop order placed on businessman Bruce Bicknell. Bicknell along with West Portland MP Daryl Vaz; and the head of the police community safety and security branch, Senior Superintendent James Forbes are on bail in the sum of $250,000 in a bribery case. This morning they returned to court where bail was extended. Forbes and Bicknell are charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, while Vaz has been charged with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act. The charges stem from a speeding ticket issued to Bicknell in April of this year and subsequent attempt for it to be dropped. As a result, the magistrate ruled that the businessman's travel documents be returned to him and that the stop order placed against him at the ports be suspended until September 19.
