NewsINDECOM probes East Avenue shooting2012-09-05 17:02:47 | (0 Comments)
The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing yesterday’s killing of a man at East Avenue, Kingston 13 by the police.
The dead man has been identified as Delano Bethune otherwise called ‘Jaggy P’. INDECOM said information received from the police is that a team went on an operation in the area, in search of a man wanted in connection with a triple homicide in the St. Catherine South Division. The police further reported that the team entered a house and the accused pulled a gun and engaged them. A shootout reportedly ensued during which a member of the team discharged four rounds from his service pistol. Bethune was found suffering from gunshot wounds and he was taken to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. However, INDECOM said occupants in the house told its investigators that they were all, with the exception of the deceased, instructed by the police to move to the living room of the house. They further reported that shortly afterwards gunshots were heard. INDECOM said the scene was processed jointly by its forensics team and Scenes of Crime personnel of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. It said notices will be served on the concerned officers within the next 48 hours. editorial@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
