Man killed in hit and run accident

A man was killed in what is believed to be a hit and run incident this morning along the Salem Main Road in St Ann this morning.

The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) says the victim was Joseph Campbell of Hampstead district in Runaway Bay in the parish. A team of officers on patrol in the area found the body on the roadway about 6:55 a.m.

Investigators from the Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Unit (AIRU) were called in, and a preliminary probe led them to theorise that Campbell may have been the victim of a hit-and-run.
