The Jamaica Civil Service Association will be meeting this afternoon to ensure everyone is on the same page, as it prepares to present its wish list to the government for wage claims for the 2012 to 2014 contract period.

The President of the union, O’Neil Grant, said they have already settled on their demands but it’s important that everyone speaks with the same voice.

The wage claims are to be presented to the government from trade unions representing the public sector ahead of talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The government wants the matter addressed urgently as part of its effort to secure a deal with the Fund.

Critical pillars for the government to ink its IMF deal are bringing down public sector wages and tax and pension reform.
