Prominent Kingston-based gynaecologist, Dr Lloyd Goldson, is to go on trial on February 21 next year in an abortion case .

Goldson is accused of performing an illegal abortion on a young girl.

Her mother is also before the court on the charge of procuring an abortion, cruelty to child and failing to make a report to the Children’s Registry.

In court today, Goldson and the woman were granted an extension of their $150,000 bail until the trial date.

It’s alleged that Goldson performed an abortion on a 12-year-old said to be four months pregnant.
