Walkerswood roadblocks cleared

The Walkerswood main road in St Ann which was blocked has now been cleared.

The residents this morning blocked the road to protest against their water woes.

However, the National Water Commission says it is working to fix the problems with the Walkerswood Deep well, which resulted in a disruption in water supply to several St. Ann communities.

It explained that the disruption in water supply occurred as a result of motor damage as well as electrical and mechanical problems.

The NWC says while it is working to fix the problems, it cannot guarantee that water supply will be restored before Sunday September 23.

In the interim, the agency said it plans to truck water to the affected areas.
