A man who is facing extradition to the Cayman Islands was further remanded when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Ryan Edwards has been implicated in a bank robbery in that country.

The prosecutor said a letter has been submitted to the Government of the Cayman Islands for disclosure of the relevant documents.

According to police reports, Edwards and another man were in a parked Toyota motorcar on the Lyssons main road in St. Thomas when they were accosted.

The vehicle was searched and a large sum of cash, including US$5,000 and CI$35,000 were allegedly found inside.

Investigators subsequently made checks with the Royal Caymanian police, who revealed that several of the notes found in Edwards' possession matched notes stolen during a robbery at the Cayman Nation Bank in June.

The police were also informed by the Caymanian police that Edwards was wanted in connection with the robbery.

Edwards is to return to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on October 4.
