NewsPNP delegates in a combative mood2012-09-15 12:57:45 | (0 Comments) ![]() PNP Chairman Robert Pickersgill - File There is reportedly resentment and discontent on the part of many comrades. PNP Chairman Robert Pickersgill conceded at a press conference this week that there was some dissension in the camp but said that the party was on top of it. Pickersgill says at today’s session, the party’s president, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller, will give the rallying cry to delegates after Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips and PNP General Secretary Peter Bunting make presentations. But there are reports some stalwarts will be asking the PNP leadership about the reason for what has been described as a stifling lethargy that has permeated the party less than a year after it won a general election in convincing fashion. The PNP goes into the conference with explosive issues from East Rural St. Andrew and West Central St. James unresolved. Meanwhile, party insiders say the failure of the PNP Secretariat to address the issues in the two constituencies, in which the members of parliament are at odds with their councillors, reflect a lack of decisive leadership that has affected the party. editorial@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
