Spirited discussions at PNP private session

2012-09-15 18:05:58 | (0 Comments)

The Deputy General Secretary of the governing People’s National Party, the PNP, Julian Robinson says there were some spirited discussions during today’s private session of the Party’s 74th annual conference.

According to Mr Robinson, PNP supporters expressed their views on a range of issues, including the state of the Party’s organisation.

His comments come in the wake of reports that some senior PNP supporters were in a combative mood heading into the conference.

However, Mr Robinson made it clear that the spirited discussion witnessed today was common at all PNP conferences.

PNP President, Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller and her four deputies, Noel Arscott, Angella Brown Burke, Derrick Kellier and Dr Fenton Ferguson, were returned by acclamation.

Mr Robinson says the presentation by Finance Minister Dr Peter Phillips on the state of the economy was one of the most eagerly anticipated events today.
