Water disruption affects St. James

The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising customers served by the Great River Treatment Plant in St. James that the disruption they are experiencing is due to high turbidity at the facility.

The NWC said the high turbidity has resulted in a blocked intake at the facility.

It said it is working to rectify the problem and to restore water to the affected communities by tomorrow.

Affected areas in St. James include Catherine Hall, West Green, Salt Spring, Brandon Hill, Rosemount, Cornwall Courts, Anchovy, Tower Hill and Unity Hall.

Hopewell, Sandy Bay and sections of Lucea in Hanover are also being affected.
