The Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) is warning residents of Whitfield Town in Kingston to become regularised or risk being without electricity come Next week Wednesday.

The company said on that day, it will be implementing its tamper resistant network in the community.

The JPS said it has been working with community members to prepare for regularisation of service for the last 15 months.

It said this has included offering house-wiring assistance loans, and the establishment of temporary offices in the community to help resolve any outstanding matters.

The JPS said it is now strongly urging unregularised residents of Whitfield Town, to sign contracts for service before it moves the community over to its new system.

This year, JPS has committed US$30 million to fight against electricity theft.
