Men to be questioned in ex cop’s killing

The three men in police custody in relation to the murder of retired Senior Superintendent of Police Anthony ‘Tony’ Hewitt are to be questioned today by investigators.

They men are Raymond Francis, Jermaine Smith and Jomo McLeod, all from the community of Commons, off Red Hills Road in St. Andrew.

The men turned themselves in at the Constant Spring police station on Monday.

They were accompanied by attorney-at-law Christian Tavares Finson.

SSP Hewitt died on Sunday night from gunshot wounds he received in an earlier attack at an apartment complex on Donmair Close, Kingston 19.

The Advocates’ Association of Jamaica in a statement through its president George Soutar has condemned the killing and expressed confidence that justice will be done.
