The Ministry of National Security says a branch of the Firearm Licensing Authority, will be established in Montego Bay.

A statement from the Ministry says the new branch will be located in Bogue and is expected to be open within a month.

The Ministry says the decision was taken after citizens in the western parishes raised concerns about how dangerous it was to have to travel to Kingston with their firearm when they needed it re-certified.
