PM arrives in NY for UN General Assembly

Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller has arrived in New York ahead of her participation at the 67th session of the United Nations General Assembly this week.

The Prime Minister will attend a reception on Monday evening hosted by US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle. She will also participate in a Caricom heads of government meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon. t.

On Thursday, Simpson Miller will deliver Jamaica’s policy statement at the UN meeting.

She is expected to underscore Jamaica’s support for the work of the UN, outline Jamaica’s position on Food Security, Climate Change and Sustainable Development as well as the Millennium Development Goals.
