Two men are now in police custody in connection with the seizure of 300 pounds of ganja in Yallahs, St. Thomas last night.

The police say a firearm and ammunition were also seized during the operation along the Mount Pellier main road.

The Yallahs Police say shortly before 9 o’clock lawmen were on operation in the area when they signaled the driver of a station wagon to stop.

They say the driver complied and two men ran from the vehicle into bushes.

Two other men, who were also in the motor car, were apprehended.

The vehicle was searched and the compressed ganja, a 9 millimeter pistol and fifteen 9 millimeter rounds were seized.

The identities of the men are being withheld pending further investigations.
