8-y-o victim in stable condition

2012-09-26 08:49:56 | (0 Comments)

An eight-year-old girl who was raped by two men, who forced their way into her home in Irwin Point, St James, is now in stable condition, after having to undergo emergency surgery yesterday.

The girl and four other members of her family were raped at gun point at approximately 10.30 Monday night.

The family's ordeal reportedly lasted for more than two hours.

Reports from police sources indicate that the men held up one member of the family, and threatened to kill that person, unless she opened the doors letting them in.

The men then proceeded to rob the family of cellular phones, cash and jewellery.

Up to late last night, there was no information on the condition of the other family members.

However, as news spread throughout the parish, even members of the police force found it difficult to speak about the issue.

One policewoman said one of her colleagues cried when she heard about what happened and the Victim Support Unit had to intervene.

Another police woman said she could not bear to listen to what happened to the family.
