NHT says measures in place to avoid fraud

2012-09-26 12:56:52 | (0 Comments)

Edmond Campbell, Senior Staff Reporter

General Manager of the National Housing Trust (NHT), Cecile Watson says the entity has put measures in place to prevent a recurrence of an alleged fraud, where contributors’ refunds were reportedly fleeced.

Watson, who appeared before Parliaments Public Administration and Appropriations Committee, told members of the oversight body that it would be difficult for anyone to succeed in tampering with NHT refund again.

She noted that the issue which grabbed public attention earlier this year related to only one employee who allegedly defrauded the Trust.

However, Watson told the Committee that she could not provide further comment as the matter is now before the court.
