NewsMen being questioned for MoBay rapes2012-09-28 09:08:59 | (0 Comments) Janet Silvera, Senior Gleaner Writer WESTERN BUREAU: The police have confirmed that a number of men are now being questioned by them in relation to the rape of five females, including an eight-year- old, in St. James. Police sources say they are following strong leads in the case and are confident they will make a breakthrough soon. However, the police are urging members of the public to desist from fabricating false reports relating to the incident. They say this is causing undue discomfort to the victims, relatives and the community. Yesterday, social media sites and the popular BlackBerry messenger platform was swamped with various stories about the death of the eight-year-old girl. However, the child remains in hospital. The five females from Irwin Point were reportedly tied up and raped at gun point at approximately 10.30 Monday night. The family's ordeal reportedly lasted for more than two hours. Meanwhile, Crime Stop is offering $1 million for information which leads to the arrest and charge of the persons, who attacked and raped the five family members. Anyone with information is being asked to contact Crime Stop at 311. janet.silvera@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
