Flash flood watch extended

2012-09-29 18:19:14 | (0 Comments)

The flash flood watch issued by the Meteorological Service for low-lying and flood-prone areas across the island will remain in effect until 5 o’clock tomorrow morning.

This as the Met Office says an area of low pressure remains over the western Caribbean and continues to influence weather conditions across the island.

As a result, the Met Office says periods of showers and thunderstorms will continue across the island this evening and into tonight before shifting to northern parishes tomorrow.

A flash flood watch means that flooding could occur quickly and residents should be prepared to take precautionary measures.
