NewsNWA constructs drain, partially closes Dukharan Avenue in St Andrew2012-09-30 17:48:38 | (0 Comments)
The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising motorists to expect traffic delays when travelling along Dukharan Avenue as of Tuesday, October 2.
This is to facilitate the construction of a concrete drain just below the intersection with Lindsay Crescent. As a result the southbound carriageway along Dukharan Avenue will closed. The NWA's manager of communication and customer services, Stephen Shaw says the roadway will be closed for three weeks. Over the period the following traffic changes will be effected: • Dukharan Avenue will be one way northbound, i.e. traffic will be allowed to enter Dukharan Avenue from Dunrobin Avenue, but will NOT be allowed to exit Dukharan Avenue onto Dunrobin Avenue. • Motorists wishing to access Dunrobin Avenue from Dukharan Avenue will therefore be asked to use Lindsay Crescent. Shaw explains that the works to be undertaken on Dukharan Avenue are part of remedial activities for the Washington Boulevard/Dunrobin Avenue Improvement Project, which was completed in October last year. The works will be carried out by contractors Surrey Paving and Aggregates Company Limited. Full vehicular access will be restored to Dukharan Avenue on October 23, 2012. The NWA is advising affected persons to obey all posted warning signs and flag persons, deployed along the route, during the period of closure.
