Davies to discuss security on Highway 2000

Transport Minister Dr Omar Davies is to meet with his counterpart Peter Bunting to look at ways to improve security on Highway 2000 after a woman was robbed along the thoroughfare on Friday.

The woman, who is a well-known public servant, was reportedly attacked and robbed in the vicinity of the Spanish Town Exit.

Dr Davies has expressed outrage at the incident and has given a commitment to work with the relevant agencies to do all possible to make the highway safe for users.

In the meantime, he is calling for motorists to be very vigilant on the roads.
He says motorists who are signalled by others who are purportedly in distress or seeking to give them advice, should immediately contact the police.
