NewsCarlos Hill trial postponed until next March2012-10-01 11:49:19 | (0 Comments)
The highly-anticipated trial of Carlos Hill, the former head of the failed investment scheme Cash Plus, has been put off until next year.
When called up in the Home Circuit Court this morning, the matter was postponed until March 4 as Hill’s lawyer, Valerie Neita-Robertson, has been involved in a murder case since last week. Bail for the alleged fraudster was also extended until that date. Hill has been before the court since 2008, after he was charged with fraud-related offences in connection with the Cash Plus collapse. Hill, who is accused of fraudulently inducing persons to invest in the ponzi scheme is out on a $15 million bond. His brother Bertram, and Peter Wilson, the former chief financial officer of Cash Plus, are also on trial. They are charged with obtaining money by false pretence, conspiracy to defraud and fraudulent conversion. The three men were charged in April 2008. radio@gleanerjjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
