West Indies kept alive their chances of a spot in the semi-finals of the World Twenty20 Championship after defeating New Zealand in Super Over on Monday with one ball to spare after being set 18 runs to win.
Earlier, West Indies were bowled out for 139 in 19.3 overs with Chris Gayle top-scoring for them with a fluent 30 off 14 balls. New Zealand seam bowlers Doug Bracewell 31 for 3 and Southee 21 for 3 shared six wickets between them. With the scores level, New Zealand scored 17 runs off the Super Over sent down by Marlon Samuels.
