The St Catherine North police are now on a scene in McCooks Pen, St Catherine following the discovery of an infant's body.
The body of the three-year-old boy was taken from a gully about 4 p.m. A resident said, yesterday he heard cries for help and he later learned that the baby had been washed away by gushing waters. The name of the child has been withheld further pending further investigations. In another incident, last night, 19-year-old Alexa Douglas of Sandy Grove in Sligoville, Spanish Town died after the taxi in which she was travelling was washed away. The police say her body was found in Waterloo district this morning. According to the police, shortly after 9 o’ clock last night, Douglas was in a taxi which had to be abandoned because of flood waters.
