Queen's Counsel KD Knight has joined the legal team representing businessman Bruce Bicknell in his bribery case.

This was announced when the case, which also involved Parliamentarian Daryl Vaz and Senior Superintendent James Forbes, was mentioned in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning.

Attorneys representing all three men informed the court that the office of the Director of Public Prosecution has made full disclosure of all the evidence in their possession.

The case was adjourned until October 25, when a trial date could be set.

The case relates to the alleged bribing of Sergeant Jubert Llewellyn by the businessman and the other men’s reported attempts to have Bicknell absolved.

Forbes and Bicknell are charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice, while Vaz has been charged with breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.

Meanwhile, the court again granted Bicknell permission to travel overseas from October 5 to 14.
