WESTERN BUREAU: The two men taken into custody for the rapes of five females in St. James were today pointed out in an identification parade The Gleaner has learnt. The men who were taken into custody last week could be charged soon. An eight-year-old girl and four other members of her family were all raped at gun point on Monday September 24 at approximately 10:30 p.m. The family's ordeal lasted for more than two hours after two men forced their way into her home in Irwin Point, St James. Police reports at the time indicate that the men held up one member of the family, and threatened to kill that person, unless she opened the doors letting them in. The men then proceeded to rob the family of cellular phones, cash and jewellery. The rapes sparked national outcry and led to public protest against sex crimes. janet.silvera@gleanerjm.com Source: The Gleaner/Power 106 News Send your images, videos and updates to youreport@gleanerjm.com | Click here to Comment Your Comments
