Wards full at Bustamante Hospital, patients warned of extended delays

2012-10-05 18:47:22 | (0 Comments)

The South East Regional Health Authority says the wards of the Bustamante Hospital for Children are full and as a result, there will be an extended waiting period to be admitted to the wards.

Patients will also face longer waiting times in the Accident and Emergency and Pharmacy departments.

The authority is urging parents to use the nearest health care facilities for their children to reduce the onset of complications requiring hospitalisation.

It’s also asking parents to pick up discharged patients in a timely manner.

The Bustamante Hospital for Children has a bed capacity of 283.
