2012-10-06 12:48:22 | (0 Comments)

A man is now in the custody of the Rollington Town police after a security guard foiled his robbery attempt at a bank.

The would-be robber was reportedly attempting to rob a customer at the drive through section of the National Commercial Bank about 2:30 yesterday afternoon.

He was approached by a security guard, but the robber reportedly immediately opened fire at the guard triggering a gunfight.

The police say when the shooting subsided, it was discovered that the alleged criminal was shot.

The police were summoned and on their arrival, they arrested the injured man and reportedly confiscated a Smith and Wesson nine millimeter pistol loaded with seven rounds of ammunition.

The security guard received no injuries.
